ਜੇਪੀਈਜੀ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ "ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਫੋਟੋਗ੍ਰਾਫਿਕ ਮਾਹਰ ਸਮੂਹ" । ਇਹ ਸਥਿਰ ਚਿੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਪਰੈੱਸ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ISO/ITU ਸਟੈਂਡਰਡ ਹੈ।  ਜੇਪੀਈਜੀ ਫਾਰਮੈਟ ਇਸਦੀ ਵੇਰੀਏਬਲ ਕੰਪਰੈਸ਼ਨ ਰੇਂਜ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਹੈ।  ਜੇਪੀਈਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੀ ਗੁਣਵੱਤਾ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ ਤੇ ਸਲਾਈਡਿੰਗ ਰੈਜ਼ੋਲਿਊਸ਼ਨ ਸਕੇਲ ਤੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।  ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਲਈ, ਇੱਕ ਚਿੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਫੋਟੋ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਟਿੰਗ ਲਈ ਉੱਚ ਗੁਣਵੱਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ, ਵੈੱਬ ਲਈ ਮੱਧਮ ਗੁਣਵੱਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਈਮੇਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਟੈਚ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਘੱਟ ਕੁਆਲਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਜੇਪੀਈਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਰਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਉੱਚ-ਗੁਣਵੱਤਾ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਡਿਜਿਟਲ ਫੋਟੋਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਸ਼ਲਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਟੋਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।  ਉਹ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਛੋਟੇ ਫਾਈਲ ਆਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਪਰੈੱਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਅਪਲੋਡ ਕਰਨਾ ਆਸਾਨ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।  

ਇੱਕ ਡਿਜਿਟਲ ਚਿੱਤਰ ਫਾਰਮੈਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੇਪੀਈਜੀ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਫਾਇਦੇ ਹਨ :

1. ਪੋਰਟੇਬਿਲਟੀ : ਜੇਪੀਈਜੀ ਫਾਈਲਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਕੰਪਰੈੱਸ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।  ਛੋਟੇ ਫਾਈਲ ਦਾ ਆਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇਪੀਈਜੀ ਚਿੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੈੱਬ ਪੇਜਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਸਾਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਅਪਲੋਡ ਨਾਲ ਅਪਲੋਡ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। 

2. ਅਨੁਕੂਲਤਾ: ਜੇਪੀਈਜੀ ਚਿੱਤਰ ਲਗਭਗ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਡਿਵਾਈਸਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਫਟਵੇਅਰ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਕੂਲ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਲਈ ਫਾਰਮੈਟ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।

4. ਵੇਰੀਏਬਲ ਕੰਪਰੈਸ਼ਨ: ਜੇਪੀਈਜੀ ਚਿੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਪਲੀਕੈਸ਼ਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੋੜਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕੰਪਰੈੱਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।  ਕੰਪਰੈਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਡਿਗਰੀ ਲਚਕਦਾਰ ਹੈ। 

ਦਿਲਚਸਪ ਤੱਥ :

1. ਜੇਪੀਈਜੀ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ "ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਫੋਟੋਗ੍ਰਾਫਿਕ ਮਾਹਰ ਸਮੂਹ"। 

2. ਇਹ 16 ਮਿਲੀਅਨ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ 24-ਬਿੱਟ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। 

3. ਜੇਪੀਈਜੀ ਚਿੱਤਰ ਲਗਭਗ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਡਿਵਾਇਸਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਫਟਵੇਅਰ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਕੂਲ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਲਈ ਫਾਰਮੈਟ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।  

4. ISO/ITU ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ : ਮਾਨਕੀਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸੰਗਠਨ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਦੂਰਸੰਚਾਰ ਯੂਨੀਅਨ। 

JPEG stands for “Joint Photographic Experts Group”. It's an ISO/ITU standard for compressing still images. The JPEG format is very popular due to its variable compression range. JPEGs are saved on a sliding resolution scale based on the quality desired. For example, an image can be saved in high quality for photo printing, in medium quality for the Web and in low quality for attaching to emails, the latter providing the smallest file size for fastest transmission over slow connections.

Is JPEG good quality?

JPEGs are designed to efficiently store high-quality digital photos packed with detail and color. They compress large images into much smaller file sizes, making them easier to share and upload online.

The advantages of using JPEG in a digital image format are:

1. Portability: The JPEG files are highly compressible. The small file size means that JPEG images can easily be uploaded on web pages.

2. Compatibility: JPEG images are compatible with almost all devices and software, which means that there is no need to change the format for usage.

3. Vibrant: High-resolution JPEG images are vibrant and colorful. The JPEG standard is that it supports 24-bit color with up to 16 million colors.

4. Variable Compression: JPEG images can be compressed according to needs of the application. The degree of compression is flexible.
